Last Day in Paris & back to Brussels

Hi guys!! I miss you all too!!

I loved your audio message. Leona, what did you and Jacob order from Jason’s Deli? What was your favorite decoration at the Forum? Also, how in the world do you know all that stuff about the Mona Lisa, Jacob?

Above is a picture of Hao Ah-Yi and I at lunch. We stayed around our airbnb and picked up some last minute items. And then we finally made it to this ramen shop. It was always packed with a veeeerry long line whenever we walked by it. It was delicious! They had Japanese street sounds playing over the speakers and the decorations really made it feel like we were in Japan.

This was my soup and noodles, it was a little spicy and very creamy broth.

We walked around the neighborhood and I took this picture to remember how beautiful the city is.

Then we went to visit a library that I had wanted to go to. It’s called the Mazarine Library.

Inside there are some more statues, or really this is called a bust. It looks like a baby’s face. But it made me laugh because I didn’t expect it. I just always expect these busts to be old men or women.

Inside the library. I really wanted to get a seat and write for hours, but we didn’t have enough time. It was so magical inside.

This is Hao Ah-Yi walking around in the courtyard at the library. Isn’t it beautiful?

We missed our train again haha. We didn’t expect traffic to be so bad. So when we got on a later one, we had to sit in these side seats next to the door. Not the most comfortable but we were glad we made it on. It was a very long train ride, about 1.5hours and by the time we got to Brussels, it was dark!

Also, funny story. Jen Ah-Yi, Duke’s mommy, was so tired that when she tried to say “Brussels stop”, she saif “Brussel sprouts” instead.

Here is a pic of the view from the train. The land was very flat and grassy and so beautiful!

We made it to Brussels!! We are staying at an Airbnb in a very old part of town. They don’t allow any cars to this street! It’s all cobblestone and we had to pull our suitcases about 7 minutes from the train stop to our apartment. It was tiring haha

We dropped our suitcases and are happy to be traveling light again! I’m not sure if videos work, below is a video of the Grand Place. It’s the central square of Brussels and the architecture is beautiful.

We ate dinner at a place called Au Coin Gourmand but also known as “Belgian Buffalo”. It was confusing. But it was really good, below is a picture of all the food we ordered.

We had mussels, croquettes, seafood pasta, and beers.

Leona and Jacob, I hope you two have a wonderful day at school. Jacob, what kind of day do you want today? Leona, what kind of day do you want today? And you, daddy? What kind of day do you want? I want an awe-inspiring day today.

I love you all so much and can’t wait to see you in a few days!
